Recipe Development
Building, refining, and balancing beers across classic styles, modern hop-forward recipes, experimental releases, and production-ready house brands.
Brewing Archive
An archive of brewing, beverage, and consulting work from my many years in craft beer.
Positive Headspace Engineering began with a deep love of craft beer: the kind that turns curiosity into obsession, and obsession into years of study, travel, brewing, teaching, and experimentation. After formal training in Chicago and Germany, that path became more than a decade inside brewhouses, taprooms, classrooms, competitions, production floors, and brewery teams around the world.
From co-founding Artmonster, a World Champion Craft Beer brand and one of the most internationally awarded craft breweries in the world since 2018, to starting a consulting firm and working with breweries across the United States, Alaska, Canada, Guatemala, the Philippines, Vietnam, and beyond, this archive collects a long beer chapter: building recipes, solving production problems, training teams, supporting brewery openings, improving consistency, and helping brewers and breweries create world-class, award-winning beer.
Building, refining, and balancing beers across classic styles, modern hop-forward recipes, experimental releases, and production-ready house brands.
Dialing in water, yeast, process, brewhouse numbers, wort clarity, fermentation, consistency, and the small technical details that separate good beer from great beer.
Walking into new or struggling systems, identifying what is actually happening, and helping teams make practical improvements without losing their own identity.
Training brewers, mentoring staff, building confidence, and treating beer as a craft that gets better when the whole team understands the why behind the work.
“His technical brewing and creativity are both top notch.”
“One of the most knowledgeable people I know in the brewing industry.”
“Jason was always the first person I would go to when I needed to talk through a problem.”
“Jason was able to teach me more about beer in one month than I had learned over my brewing career.”
Positive Headspace Engineering now lives as an archive inside Everything Is Alchemy: a record of craft, experimentation, technical obsession, collaboration, failure, repair, and the long strange education of making something alive.
The brewing chapter is not separate from the rest. It was another way of learning how transformation works.
